Upcoming and Recent Presentations
On September 22, Dr, Haen will present the Grand Rounds lecture for Mt Sinai Services/Queens Hospital Center, in which he will address “Arts-Based Approaches to Trauma Processing: Engaging the Imagined Body.”
He has spent the past few months providing training in TX to mental health providers and teachers in the wake of mass trauma events. These have included two full-staff trainings for Communities in Schools San Antonio, an affiliate of “the nation’s largest and most effective organization dedicated to keeping kids in school and helping them succeed in life.” The program places mental health professionals in 160 (K-12) schools across the San Antonio District and in Uvalde. In addition, he offered a sold-out workshop for the San Antonio Group Psychotherapy Society on “Creative Approaches to Trauma Processing in the Wake of Mass Trauma.”
In August, Dr. Haen was honored to present a workshop on “Going On After Trauma: Resilience and Connection” for the teachers and staff of the Uvalde CISD. This daylong training was the conclusion of their professional development week prior to beginning the second school year following the tragedy at Robb Elementary.
