Social Responsibility Award

Social Responsibility Award

Craig received the 2021 Social Responsibility Award from the American Group Psychotherapy Association in recognition of his work as co-chair, with Suzanne Phillips, of the Community Outreach Task Force. This award, which was presented at the 2021 AGPA Connect virtual conference, is given annually to an individual or group whose work has been deemed of benefit to the public-at-large through training professionals, direct service to communities in need, and extensive pro bono work.

Projects they were recognized for included COVID response in the form of webinars, media appearances, and trainings for professionals and the public, as well as consultation to state and national organizations. In addition, they facilitated a pilot program for staff members of NGOs in Nigeria in response to increased community violence; consulted on the design of programs for traumatically bereaved young people in Uganda; and offered a webinar attended by thousands of community members in China.
